Overview

TollCyto Therapeutics is a UK biotechnology company developing engineered oncolytic virus therapies for cancers that today have no good answer.

TollCyto has developed HSV5-15, a precision-engineered herpes simplex virus designed for the unique biology of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer - and applicable for many cancers beyond.

Our Mission

Re-engineering nature's most successful invader to treat cancer.

Oncolytic viruses are a proven modality - T-VEC, an oncolytic herpes virus, has been used in the NHS to treat malignant melanoma since 2010, and was acquired by Amgen for up to US$1bn. TollCyto's founding team includes the principal investigator of the first human T-VEC study.

We are building on that legacy with HSV5-15: an HSV-1 virus disarmed by two precise gene deletions and armed with a TLR5 agonist plus cytokine payload.
